What is an Academic Library?

What is an academic library?

There are four types of libraries.

  1. Academic libraries – serve college and university campus communities.
  2. Public libraries – serve city and county populations
  3. School libraries – serve students in K-12 schools
  4. Special libraries – serve a specialized community such as lawyers, hospitals, or corporations.

What will you find at the Dick Smith Library?

Students entering the library will find welcoming spaces, helpful librarians and staff, and a variety of research options. Students can study on all three levels of the building or grab lunch at the coffee bar. Need to print a paper? There are four printing stations in the library with mobile printing options. Not sure how to find a book in the stacks? Our helpful library staff are happy to assist you.
