Welcome to the History Subject Guide. Use the tabs above to find books, articles, videos, and web resources related to the field of History.
In history research you're often required to find primary and secondary sources. This guide will help you find both source types.
Primary sources are original materials that have not been filtered through interpretation or evaluation. These can include: newspaper articles written at the time you're studying, diary entries, letters, speeches, etc.
Secondary sources are typically books, scholarly journal articles, etc. written after the fact. Authors of these documents have typically read primary sources on the event and have constructed a narrative or interpretation of the historical topic under discussion.
