General CSE Format Guidelines

CSE does not specify a format for the body of a college paper. Remember, your instructor may have different requirements. Below you will find the most commonly required.

  • Use Times New Roman in size 12 for the font.
  • Double-space throughout your paper.
  • Be sure to use 1 inch margins
  • Include just the page number in the top right corner (no need to write page, p., or pg.).
  • A title page should include the title and author's name centered one-third of the way down the page AND the course name, professor's name, and submission date centered on the bottom third of the page.
  • You may be required to write an abstract. This will go on a separate page directly behind the title page. Place the heading "Abstract", centered at the top of the page. No need to indent the first line, but do double-space.
