Literature Circles/Double Entry Journal

Literature Circles/Double Entry Journal (75 points): As we learn the whys and wherefores of the workshop model, it is important that you learn by doing and not by watching. To this end, you will experience the workshop model through the completion of a literature circle. You will read one children’s chapter book during the semester and participate in the literature circle. To document your progress in reading and processing the novel, you will keep a detailed double-entry journal, in which you make connections to events/characters/vocabulary you read about in the book. This journal needs to have entries for each chapter of the book, including the page number where the connection was made. Double-entry journals will be modeled and discussed in class. (This assignment helps meet the following student learning outcomes: Knowledge 1, 2, 4, 5; Value 3, 4, 5)
